🌍 Earth Day Forest Bathing Walk – Tuesday, April 22, 2025
Donation-Based Event | Supports Sacramento Splash
🌿 Celebrate Earth Day with Forest Bathing in Sacramento
Join Monica Mendoza, a certified Forest Therapy Guide, for a unique Earth Day Forest Bathing walk near Mather, CA. This donation-based experience supports Sacramento Splash, a nonprofit that teaches youth and our community about the rare and beautiful vernal pool grassland habitat.
Whether this landscape feels familiar or entirely new, this nature therapy walk invites you to slow down. As a result, you may discover a deeper sense of presence and peace while connecting with the More-Than-Human World.
🌞 A Mindful Nature Therapy Experience
As golden light fades and twilight gently arrives, we’ll move slowly through this protected landscape. Rather than rushing, we’ll pause, observe, and listen. In addition, you’ll receive gentle, sensory invitations that help ground your awareness and allow for inner quiet.
You might feel the warmth of sunlight on your skin. You may hear the rustle of grasses or the soft calls of evening birds. As you relax, the stillness of the land often reflects your own inner calm.
Instead of hiking, we’ll focus on being present. When we slow down, we create space to receive what the land generously offers.
🌸 What Is Forest Bathing?
Forest Bathing, also known as Shinrin-Yoku, means “bathing in the forest atmosphere.” This practice began in Japan and continues to spread worldwide. Because of its simplicity and power, it resonates with people of all ages.
Over time, studies have shown that Forest Bathing helps people:
-
Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression
-
Sleep more deeply and improve heart health
-
Boost immunity and increase cancer-fighting cells
-
Cultivate gratitude, clarity, and emotional balance
Since it engages all the senses, Forest Bathing supports both emotional and physical well-being.
🌻 About Monica Mendoza
Monica Mendoza guides through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). Her connection with this land began over 11 years ago during her daughter’s school field trip.
Since then, she has returned often. Sometimes she walks the land alone, and other times she brings her children or nature club families. Because of her repeated visits, Monica has developed a deep relationship with the seasonal rhythms of this ecosystem.
As a guide, Monica helps others listen more deeply—to the earth and to their own inner world. She believes that slowing down can transform how we feel, think, and relate to nature.
đź’š Support Sacramento Splash on the Big Day of Giving

You can donate in person using Venmo or cash. Every contribution, no matter the size, supports hands-on environmental education for local youth. In other words, your generosity directly benefits both the land and the children learning to protect it.
📍 Location & Registration Details
