SUMMARY:Kids' Forest Bathing Adventure - Friday\, April 21st
DESCRIPTION:\nGet GROUNDED for EARTH DAY weekend! Children more than ever n
eed opportunities to be in their bodies in the natural world.\n\n\nHi ther
e! I'm Monica\, your certified Forest Therapy Guide. I am thrilled to have
you and your child join this engaging practice that supports connection a
nd awareness of our bodies and the world around us.\n\nForest Bathing\, al
so known as shinrin yoku is a practice that originated in Japan in the ear
ly 80s in response to a pandemic of various mental and physical health iss
ues. The goal of forest bathing is to live in the present moment while im
mersing your senses in the sights and sounds of a natural setting.\n\nThis
Forest Bathing Adventure will be suited for children ages 4 and up. The p
ractice of Forest Bathing is open-ended\, with no predetermined outcome\,
but rather focuses on fostering a reciprocal relationship between the "for
est" (any natural setting) and the practitioner (that's me). To provide st
ructure\, there is a clearly defined sequence of guided events that allows
for creativity and serendipity while embracing individual inspiration.\n\
n&nbsp\;\n\nWhat to expect:\n\nParents must stay with their child and are
encouraged to participate in the experience. This is also an opportunity f
or you to slow down and embody the world around you.  I will offer you an
d your child "invitations" which are various ways to interact with\, The M
ore-Than-Human World also known as "Nature".\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to
Bring: We will be outside through the entire experience.  \n(Dress)Fore
st Bathing / Forest Therapy is an experience that slows your body. This me
ans that your body will not be producing any extra energy/heat. It is impo
rtant to bring extra layers so you can add/take off to ensure you are comf
ortable.  There are grassy areas so it is ideal to wear pants (canvas or
jean material are best) and long socks - in some areas there are stickers
and/or possibility of ticks.   Pants are not required but they tend to m
ake participants more comfortable.\n \nEvery child must bring (Water/Snac
 k) \n\n\n Please be sure to bring your child a reusable water bottle \n
Bring a light snack (snack to be eaten at the end - with the group) Plea
se communicate with me if your child has allergies of any kind.\n\n\n(Addi
tional Items) We will be outside through the entire experience so you may
want to bring/wear the following: Hat\, Sunscreen\, Sunglasses\, Insect Re
pellant. Oftentimes children like to bring a small backpack to keep their
belongings. Some children like to bring a drawing pad with a writing utens
il. This is not required. \n \nParent's Role / Info: Forest Bathing is
a sensory journey allowing you AND your child to be present in the curren
 t moment. A parent's role is a support role primarily for safety/boundarie
 s. You are welcome and encouraged to participate in the "invitations" that
will be provided. More for younger children\, but if your child seeks you
r attention then please know that you can comfort them. It is ideal that y
ou do not direct your child unless necessary for safety. We each find our
own individual ways to connect with the More-Than-Human World. We want to
trust the open process. The more direction given ends up limiting the chil
d's ability to navigate the world independently with their own curious min
 d.  There is no right or wrong way to interpret the\, "invitations" offe
red. Please note that this is not a Forest School. There is no specific le
arning objective that will take place. The experience is focused on mindfu
lness and embodiment.\nI am excited to share this experience with you!  P
lease reach out with any questions.\n\n\nSending Sunshine\,\nMonica\n\nInv
estment: $20.00 for first child. $5.00 for each additional sibling. Parent
s are free and included with registration.\nAge group: Experience is geare
d towards ages 4-12. If children are younger than age 4 they can still par
ticipate\, just know that they may need additional parent support.\n\nDate

re Area\, Carmichael\n\nRegistration: When registering please use Coupon C
