SUMMARY:Kid's Forest Bathing - Friday\, May 24th
DESCRIPTION:\nForest Bathing with Kids Morning Series (4 of 4)\n\n\nHi ther
e! I'm Monica\, your certified Forest Therapy Guide. I am thrilled to have
you and your child join this engaging practice that supports connection a
nd awareness of our bodies and the world around us.\n\nForest Bathing\, al
so known as shinrin yoku is a practice that originated in Japan in the ear
ly 80s in response to a pandemic of various mental and physical health iss
ues. The goal of forest bathing is to live in the present moment while im
mersing your senses in the sights and sounds of a natural setting.\n\nThis
Forest Bathing Adventure will be suited for children ages 4 and up. The p
ractice of Forest Bathing is open-ended\, with no predetermined outcome\,
but rather focuses on fostering a reciprocal relationship between the "for
est" (any natural setting) and the participant. To provide structure\, the
re is a clearly defined sequence of guided events that allows for creativi
ty and serendipity while embracing individual inspiration.\n\nWhat to expe
ct:\n\nParents must stay with their child and are encouraged to participat
e in the experience. This is also an opportunity for you to slow down and
embody the world around you.  I will offer you and your child "invitation
s" which are various ways to interact with\, The More-Than-Human World als
o known as "Nature".\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat to Bring: We will be outsid
e through the entire experience.  \n(Dress)Forest Bathing / Forest Thera
py is an experience that slows your body. This means that your body will n
ot be producing any extra energy/heat. It is important to bring extra laye
rs so you can add/take off to ensure you are comfortable.  There are gras
sy areas so it is ideal to wear pants and long socks - in some areas there
are stickers and/or possibility of ticks.   Pants are not required but
they tend to make participants more comfortable.\n \nEvery child must bri
ng (Water/Snack) \n\n\n Please be sure to bring your child a reusable wa
ter bottle \n Bring a light snack (snack to be eaten at the end - with t
he group) Please communicate with me if your child has allergies of any ki
nd.\n\n\n(Additional Items) We will be outside through the entire experien
ce so you may want to bring/wear the following: Hat\, Sunscreen\, Sunglass
es\, Insect Repellant. Oftentimes children like to bring a small backpack
to keep their belongings. Some children like to bring a drawing pad with a
writing utensil. This is not required. \n \nParent's Role / Info: Fore
st Bathing is a sensory journey allowing you AND your child to be present
in the current moment. A parent's role is a support role primarily for sa
fety/boundaries. You are welcome and encouraged to participate in the "inv
itations" that will be provided. More for younger children\, but if your c
hild seeks your attention then please know that you can comfort them. It i
s ideal that you do not direct your child unless necessary for safety. We
each find our own individual ways to connect with the More-Than-Human Worl
 d. We want to trust the open process. The more direction given ends up lim
iting the child's ability to navigate the world independently with their o
wn curious mind.  There is no right or wrong way to interpret the\, "inv
itations" offered. Please note that this is not a Forest School. There is
no specific learning objective that will take place. The experience is foc
used on mindfulness and embodiment.\nI am excited to share this experience
with you!  Please reach out with any questions.\n\n\nSending Sunshine\,\
nMonica\n\nInvestment: $20.00 for first child. $5.00 for each additional s
ibling. Parents are free and included with registration.\nAge group: Exper
ience is geared towards ages 4-12. If children are younger than age 4 they
can still participate\, just know that they may need additional parent su
 pport.\n\nDate: Friday\, May 24th\nTime: 8:30-11:00am\nLocation: Schweitze
r Grove Nature Area\, Carmichael\n\nRegistration: When registering please
