SUMMARY:Women's Beginner Backpacking Trip - 2 Days & 1 Night: Thursday\, Ju
 ly 13th - Friday\, July 14th 2023
DESCRIPTION:Backpack to Coast Camp in Point Reyes National Seashore! (Women
Only) \n\nHello ladies! I'm so excited you are here!\n\n\n\n\n\nThis wom
en's only trip is designed for ladies that are looking for a balance of ad
venture and peace. Women that are eager to connect with feminine energy\,
and Mother Earth herself. A physical and emotional journey. Unlike other o
utfitters our goal is not the destination but instead CONNECTION. Through
various bodyfulness practices (like mindfulness but with your whole body)
we will slow down and create connection with ourselves\, the land and like
minded individuals.\n\nIf you have never been backpacking or perhaps it h
as been some time since your last trip\, this is the adventure for you.
With low mileage and low elevation gain\, coupled with amazing scenery\, t
his trip is sure to be a highlight of backpacking locations. Honestly you
will want to come back year after year!\n\nThis trip is intended for begin
ners\, so we expect that you may not have everything you need for this fir
st step in what we hope will be your next favorite hobby. We will get you
geared up with all the backpacking necessities for a fun\, safe and enjoya
ble one-night experience.\n\nOur group will hike 2 miles into a premier ba
ckpacking location and set up camp at Coast Camp. We will enjoy the ocean
air\, sleep under the stars and will be just a stones throw from the beach
. (*This is considered environmental hike-in camping so there will be a pi
cnic table\, pit toilet and potable water at our site.)\n\nThe return hike
back to the cars will be done in a loop\, based on where we originally st
arted. The mileage on the way out is 3 miles.  The added extra mile will
provide serene ocean views and additional views of the diverse ecosystems
of Point Reyes.\n\nTravel Plans and Logistics\n\nParking spaces and requir
ed permits are limited.  Joining this trip will require a carpool plan. W
e are allotted 5 parking permits. The meet up time for departure from the
Sacramento area will be 7:00 AM on Thursday\, July 13th.\n\n* Estimated re
turn time to Sacramento on Friday\, July 14th is 6:00 PM.\n\nMore informat
ion regarding meetup location and carpooling plans to follow upon registra
tion.\n\nMeet Your Guide: \n\nMonica Mendoza is our C.E.O (Chief Enjoyment
Officer) of Grow Outside.\n\n\n\nI love the energy and enthusiasm for out
door recreation. With years of backpacking experience\,  I have spent man
y nights sleeping under the stars.  My love of nature since childhood has
opened many doors to adventure. I appreciate bugs (yes bugs!)\, bike ride
 s\, kayaking\, paddleboarding\, outdoor youth education\, sunsets and sunr
ises. Honestly any day I'm in nature comforts my soul.  To foster my conn
ection with the outdoors I started backpacking which filled my heart in mo
re ways than I expected.  I met my husband through my journey of going on
my first solo backpacking trip. With a focus on deepening my relationship
with the More-Than-Human World and slowing down\, I became a certified Fo
rest Therapy Guide where I guide participants in the practice of Forest Ba
thing.  Forest Bathing is a slow and mindful experience of awakening your
senses and connecting to nature through a series of "invitations." Like a
spider web that has many attachment points\, I am also a sound therapy pr
actitioner\, emotion coach\, teacher and a mom of three daughters. I love
empowering women to feel capable\, strong\, wild and free.  Favorite Trai
l Food: Anytime I can put my food in a tortilla\, Watermelon Sour Patch Ki
ds\, and Marcona almonds with Rosemary from Trader Joes.\n\nGear Logistics
